Agenda:

  • Timebanking. Age UK Harrow are running a timebanking project called community click, the idea is around skill sharing / volunteering. http://www.hcommunitiesclick.timebanking.org/ I was wondering if there was a way that we could import their volunteer opportunities to our volunteers page i the way we looked at doing with Do-IT using the method used in your square mile: http://www.yoursquaremile.co.uk/local-info/?postcode=ha1+4hz&submit-postcode=show+info They don't have a map and they are working with the national timebank so there will questions around accessing the data in the same way as with Do-IT
    It could then be the basis of other specific databases e.. Steve's project around services for people with autism.
  • VCS Forum (VCS - Voluntary and Community Sector) Sam, this is the meeting you attended a while back. It is a meeting that happens every 2 months with the aims of bringing local organisations together to discuss relevant issues, network and share information. Currently it is a very informal group but there are plans to make it more formal, have a membership process etc. A couple of the members of this group are coming to see me this week to see how this could tie in with HCN. I was wondering how straight forward it would be to give users of HCN and option to tick a box to say they want to be a member of the forum (there may be a question around eligibility to answer), there may also need to be a step for the forum to agree to allow them to be a member. Once they are accepted as a member either they could have a little flag / icon or there could be a separate page which a map which just displayed forum members. It would probably require a 'forum admin'.   HCA manages VCS database.
